OPTICAL FIBRE |
| |
Optical fibre can be SINGLE MODE OPTICAL FIBRE and MULTI MODE OPTICAL FIBRE. In Aksh, Optical fibre (As per ITU - T standard) are manufactured through Silica Germanium doped GLASS PREFORM (Origin Shin- Etsu: Japan) which are VAD (Vapour Axial Deposition) processed and adhere to the most stringent quality norms. The perform is then placed in a device know as a Drawing Tower, where the perform tip is heated and the optic fibre is drawn out as a string.
AKSH has a large capacity for SINGLE MODE OPTICAL FIBRES & MULTIMODE OPTICAL FIBRES (OM1, OM2& OM3). |
OPTICAL FIBRE SINGLE MODE |
| |
ITU -T G652B |
| They are the most common Single mode fibre in the world. It is tuned to minimize the dispersion aroung the wavelength or with dispersion compensating fibre. |
ITU - T G652D (Low Water Peak Single Mode Fibre) |
| This single mode fibre has low water peak, charactrized by the attenuation at 1383 nm being less than the attenuation at 1310 nm. |
ITU - T G655 (None Zero Dispersion Shifted Fibre) |
| This is wide band transport fibre which has positive or negative dispersion intensity. The reason for that is to reduce the none - liner phenomenon which interferes with the adjacement wavelength in DWDM system. |
ITU - T G657 (Low Bend Fibre) |
| It is a single mode fibre which low bend senstivity across overall bandwidth (1260 - 1625). It is deal for use of access and fibre to the home (FTTH) applications, including full spectrum CWDM. |
OPTICAL FIBRE MULTI MODE |
| 26.5/125 (OM1) & 50/125 (OM2/OM3) |
Transmission speed/distances limited are 100Mbit/s up tio 2km, 1 Gbit/s for distances up to 500-600 meters, and 10 Gbit/s for distances up to 300 meters.
These are widely deployed in premises application & easily support applications ranging form Ethernet (10 Mbit/s) to Gagabit Ethernet (1 Gbit/s) and , because of their relatively large core size, are ideal for use with LED transmitters. They support more than propagation mode, hence it is limited by modal dispersion. |
